Direct tv guy is here setting up my tv, but other than that, I'm on my own. My mom cried pretty hard, and I haven't checked in with her yet. They just might be in St. Louis by now, or darn near close.
So today I've taken a nap, talked to Brian, watched Elizabethtown (which started me crying, and luckily the direct tv guy called, so I stopped), paid my rent and sent out some post cards. I so badly need to clean, but today is all about rest...probably tomorrow too. I have to figure out the bus schedule so I can go down to school and get my books, and go to the driver's liscence center and get that taken care of. Other than that, everything is ready to go.
I am so so exhausted. I don't think homesickness has set in yet, although my stomach is all yucky. I guess it still feels like vacation. We'll see how I sleep tonight though.
I know a lot of people are excited for me, so that really helps. I appreciate all the support everyone is giving me. I love hearing from everyone, so don't be a stranger.

Hi Babe,
Peepaw and I look early and often until we see a new message from you.
What an adventrue you are havng!
Your Mom will be ok when she talks to you a few days. I always cried my head off when we would leave my parents in Texas. But such is life. Peepaw sends his love.Let me know if you get this as I am pretty dumb about some parts of internet use yet. Love,
Meemaw
Hi Julie,
Have to laugh at Meemaw's comment re dumb about internet...I wrote you yesterday but it's lost in space. Don't know what I did differently than the first time, which worked. So, Meemaw, you're batting 1000, and I'm 50/50 so far. But I'm trying again.
Your description of your new home and the feeling you had when you first walked in...feeling like it's going to be ok and like it's home, was deja vu. Ontario... similar 2 story apt, great layout, first real home on my own...because first place I had was a bedroom/ bath with 8 foot kitchen counter/sink/ bar fridge. Really didn't count (and didn't stay long). I loved that 2 story place, and so did Michael... we lived there awhile after we got married.
I'm so happy to hear you've already met the neighbors and are making friends. People in small towns are typically friendly, helpful, nice folks. Finding the heart of town and it being cool, getting set up so quickly, and knowing what you want re the car has to be really helping you feel positive about your new adventure, and we're all glad to hear its going well.
I always forget, having only lived in snow in mtns, that back there they don't drive 4WD's. It's flatter, and you slide on ice with 2 or 4WD, so SUV's and 4WDs are uncommon. You'll be able to leave your car at home on bad days, which is best in the long run. And, having your favorite car sounds like a good plan, rather than getting a potential money pit.
We're enjoying reading your blog and keeping up with how you're doing. Maybe once you get rested from the trip/move, and get settled, you'll have time for some exploring before school starts.
Keep posting, and enjoy...Love, Suzy and Michael
