sad news

Today started out as a scorcher. 83 and humid by 11am. I was dying. Ended up cleaning upstairs though. I like my neighbor Debbie the grandma, but she's a lousy cleaner. I had a lot of wall scrubbing to do in the bathroom. But I got it all clean (except the floor, never did do that), and finally, FINALLY got my bedroom clean, so now all that is left up there is to vacuum. Which I was going to do, along with the kitchen, until I got some sad news.
I went onto myspace, and had a message from someone I didn't know, but I read it anyway. She is a friend to a friend of mine, Gina, who I worked with at Ned's for awhile. She moved to Chico in 03 I believe, so I haven't seen her for awhile and she was always difficult to track down. Well, apparently, her fiance, and the father of her baby, passed away just recently. I never even knew she was pregnant! I had heard about the fiance though.
So I called my old boss and friend, Diane, and she said, "oh funny you should call, Earl was just in here with some shocking news." Earl is Gina's dad and a longtime customer at Ned's. He was upset and crying, but told them the news. Apparently he went to bed one night, and just didn't wake up. The baby is a month old. The funeral will be in Chico, but then Gina's moving back to Rialto. I just feel sick about it. Poor Gina. So Sheryl said she might go by, and my mom said she'd send flowers. I have her number, so I might call, but I don't want to bombard her.
I just don't feel like finishing my housework now. It started to rain, and it's a hot rain. Lots of thunder too. I just feel so blah now.

Sorry to hear about Gina's fiance. Life is hard for folks sometimes. Earl sounds like he is taking it bad.
Sad news and ugly weather will get you down for sure. Skip the work unless it helps you to work off nerves. It does me but you may just need to go to bed early and sleep it out. Peepaw sends love. I will send email now and then to tell you what is going on here. I hate to write a long note and then lose it on the blog.
Take care. Love, Meemaw

OMG!!!! Poor Gina! It sucks when tragic stuff happens to good people! That poor girl! Good thing she has a supportive family. Maybe she should have the baby checked for any cardiac defects. I'm guessing her fiance probably had an aneursym or sudden cardiac death from undiagnosed defect or heart rhythm. I think you should call, it's good to know that people are thinking of you when you need support. I was very appreciative of everyone who e-mailed me or called to check on all of us. Regardless of how long it's been since you last talked, make contact with her. Send my love also, I'm very sad for her loss.
